MORRISSEY SCRAPS SHOW

MORRISSEY has scrapped a concert in Bournemouth, England as he recovers after collapsing at the beginning of a gig on Saturday night (24Oct09). The Everyday Is Like Sunday singer was carried offstage at Swindon's Oasis Leisure Centre two songs into his performance and taken to hospital with a mystery medical issue.

He was discharged on Sunday (25Oct09) after a statement declaring he was in stable condition was posted on his website. A spokeswoman for the singer has since revealed his Bournemouth Opera House concert, scheduled for Monday (26Oct09), "will not take place on medical advice."
The rep adds, "Morrissey has now been released from hospital and is under doctors' instruction to rest. Event organisers apologise for this unavoidable situation."

Meanwhile, British TV presenter Jonathan Ross - a friend of the singer - is keeping fans up to date about Morrissey on his Twitter.com blog, explaining he has been in contact with the star's aides. He writes, "He is resting and hoping to finish these dates, inc. Albert hall on Tuesday (sic). Will keep you posted as and when. Am sending flowers to Moz this afternoon, and cupcakes! Will update re health and tour-dates as and when. Peace out."

Morrissey's spokeswoman has not released any information about his upcoming London show at the Royal Albert Hall.
