Arctic Monkeys New Album

The Arctic Monkeys appear to have moved from the dance floor to the dingy beer counter. The British quartet's third album, co-produced by Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, features fewer instances of fizzy riffing and much more of that spaghetti western twang that dominated frontman Alex Turner's side project The Last Shadow Puppets. Don't dismiss this as a party pooper, however. Lyrically, Turner is as venomous as ever, while the band's rhythm section pounds and thrusts with vein-popping vigour. These charming chimps are clearly evolving, and Humbug is worth going ape-sh*t over.
